(Lititz, Pa.) The Gate House, a non-profit organization in Lancaster County offering community-based drug and alcohol treatment programs, is proud to announce it will host its 35th annual Turkeython on November 26 from 7:00 PM – 12:00 AM (with an Alumni meeting at 6pm) at The Gate House for Men, located at 649 East Main Street in Lititz. The event is being sponsored by The Gate House Board of Directors and Susquehanna Bank.
“We continue to expect 300 to 400 guests at Turkeython this year” said Fern Wilcox, MHS, LPC, CAADC, CIP, Program Director at The Gate House for Men. “The residents at The Gate House for Men and The Gate House for Women will be cooking and preparing the meal. Our plan is to cook at least 30 turkeys as well as all the trimmings. The night before Thanksgiving is statistically the biggest drinking day of the year and holidays can be difficult for individuals in recovery. There will be Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings occurring every hour until midnight. There will also be a heated tent in case we have inclement weather.”
Raffle drawings will be held at 10:00pm for a 40” RCA LED HDTV 1080p, Apple iPad Mini, and monetary gifts. Tickets are available for $5 each or 5 for $20. All proceeds will benefit The Gate House.
The Gate House’s mission is to provide effective gender-specific behavioral health services to help chemically dependent people establish lives in recovery. In addition to its residential extended care programs, The Gate House provides outpatient counseling, intervention services, and recovery houses for women and men recovering from chemical dependency.
